OUR HISTORY

The Reverend and Mrs. Wesley Yong came to the United States of America from the Singapore Methodist Church to start the Chinese United Methodist Church ministry in Fremont, CA. There were no resources, people, or financial assistance when they first started their ministry. In time, with evangelism, people came to believe in Jesus Christ and the church was established. To meet the needs of an expanding ministry, land was purchased and a new church building constructed. The entire congregation saw that this was truly God's miraculous work and amazing grace.

 

KEY HISTORICAL DATES:

  1. December 4, 1992 - Received governmental approval to charter the new Chinise Methodist Church in Fremont, CA.
  2. March 17, 1994 - Land was successfuly acquired to build the new church.
  3. May 23, 1999 - Groundbreaking ceremony to start the construction of the new church building.
  4. April 15, 2001 - Move-in and celebrate the completion of the new building on Easter Sunday.
  5. November 18, 2001 - New church building dedication ceremony.
